In 1917, grandfather Bernard Borghuis started the stud farm in Denekamp. In addition to the cows, he had some stallions with which he covered mares at farmers’ houses, generating some extra income. When the AI-horses started in the Netherlands, Borghuis Stables was one of the first to join them. Many (current) stallion owners have had internships with us in those years and shared with us the Passion for Breeding.

Breeding is our passion

A well-bred horse is the beginning of success. Stable Borghuis wants to contribute to the promotion of horse breeding and as a result,
breeding good horses, where the sport and you can build on as a breeder in the future. We do this by working with you as a good mare owners
and make thoughtful stallion choice based on knowledge and years of experience.

Our expert guidance has resulted in the pregnancy rate in our stable has increased to a whopping 97%! Something we are proud of and where you remove advantage as a breeder.
